Following the overwhelming success of the ‘Maftown Height’ documentary which aired on Channel 0 in June 2024, Maftown Heights announced the Nutswako Nation & Motswako Republic Lineup.
Since its inception, Maftown Heights has been a cultural tray full of musical experiences, evolving into a powerhouse media platform that houses some of South Africa’s finest acts including the Late South African Hip Hop Icons Riky Rick, AKA. Commenting on what Maftown Heights strives for, the organizers briefly stated: “Motswako has been a movement that thrives off community, we are reuniting at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Maftown on 29 November 2024.”
According to the musical lineup and theme, the event builds on the collaboration between the modern and old generation as the modern generation light, dubbed The Nutswako Nation – curated by Maglera Doe Boy, features an extensive roster of local talent including Thato Saul, Mochen, 25K, Boity, Roii, Priddy Ugly, Loatinover Pounds and Marcus Harvey to name a few while the old generation dawn – named the Motswako Republic, features the South African Hip Hop Icons Tuks, Cassper Nyovest, Lection, Morafe and Khuli Chana to name a few.
