OSKIDO is set to receive top honours at SAMA30 Awards as RISA Chairperson’s Award Recipient.

South African Producer & DJ, Kalawa Jazmee co-founder Oskido has been announced as the recipient for this year’s RISA Chairperson Awards at the South African Music Awards, which will be held at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand on 2 November 2024.

The RISA Chairperson Award recipient announcement follows the International Award Recipient bulletin which will be given to the internationally recognised singer Tyla at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand in Midrand next weekend. The RISA Chairperson Award champions Oskido as a trailblazer spanning three decades, highlighting the importance of his work shaping the soundscape of South Africa’s most iconic genres including Kwaito, Gqom & Amapiano while labelling himself as a veteran which has worn various hats in the game including being a radio personality and entertainer.

A radio personality behind the growth of Hip-Hop in particular, he refuses to be left lagging behind and has joined throngs of entertainers as a TikToker” SAMA30 stated in their press release.

“His relentless creativity, innovation, and dedication have earned him a revered place in the hearts of music lovers and the industry at large. The South African Music Awards (SAMAs) will bestow the prestigious RISA Chairperson’s Award, in acknowledgement of his extraordinary contributions as a music executive, producer, entrepreneur, and cultural pioneer” SAMA30 further stated in their press release.

Commenting on his honours as RISA Chairperson’s Award recipient, Oskido gratefully stated: “I am deeply humbled and honoured by this recognition. It’s a reflection of not just my work but the incredible support and collaboration I’ve had throughout my career. SAMA30, which takes place at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand next weekend’s Saturday, will feature an electic roster of local talent including Zee Nxumalo, Cici, Skwatta Kamp, Bucy Radede, Priddy Ugly, Ringo Madlingozi and Mthandeni SK to name a few.
